It appears to me that the Democrats are on the wrong side of public opinion on all these major issues. Next time you hear a Democrat chanting "change" keep these numbers in mind.

*74% favor a single corporate tax rate of 17%, while Democrats rip John McCain for wanting to cut this rate just as many of Americans do
*54% believe the wealthy should pay the same proportion of their income as everyone else
*79% believe religion is important to our country
*88% support referencing "one nation under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance while about 7% disprove
*87% approve of referencing "the Creator" in the Declaration of Independence
*78% approve of courthouses displaying the Ten Commandments
*94% approve of a moment of silence in public schools for kids to pray if they choose
*90% approve of placing a Christmas tree on public property
*68% agree that we don't to raise taxes to help the environment
*77% support building more oil refineries
*65% support the expansion of nuclear power plants

A new poll from CNN shows that more Americans trust Senator Obama with the economy then Senator McCain, 50% to 44%. The economy has been ranked as the #1 issue facing the country and I guess, "I support the Bush tax cuts" just isn't gonna cut it. On the three top issues according to the same poll, voters trust obama on the economy, the war in Iraq, and healthcare reform. Those were the 3 top issues according to the those voters.
Oh and FYI, Offshore drilling was approved last week if you were wondering.
I did the hear the news. Drilling was approved a political ploy. Democrats knew they could not win if they didn't approve it. As for the poll that is typical. If a republcian is in office and the economy is bad, people blame him. If you want to debate whose fault it is I am glad to. I also think the most important issues are iraq, the economy, and energy. 2 of which Mccain is on the right side. However, before we get really into those lets wait until the deabte. Then on the conservative and liberal blogs (Mine, yours, phils, jacks etc) we can do posts about them. Tell me what you think about the idea.
